Monet Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Monet lets you remake a short video you saw with your own clips. This page explains what Monet collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have.

Monet is made by an independent developer (“we”). For any question or request about your data, write to mikebuilder22@gmail.com.

What we collect

Your account. When you sign in with Apple, Google or an email and password: your email address, your name if you share it or add it in the app, and a sign-in identifier. Passwords are stored only as hashes.

What you make. The links you paste or share to Monet, videos you share to it, the clips, photos and other files you add, the changes you ask for in the chat, and the remakes Monet makes from them. Monet only sees the photos and videos you pick.

Your subscription. Your plan, its renewal dates and your credits, from Apple through RevenueCat. We never see your payment details.

Notifications. A push token, if you allow notifications, to tell you when a remake is ready.

How the app is used. Screens and buttons used, errors, your device model, system and app version, and language, through PostHog. PostHog also records sessions as screen replays to help us fix problems; replays hide what you type, your photos and videos, and web content.

How we use it

To make your remakes and apply the changes you ask for, to run your account, subscription and credits, to send the notifications you allowed, and to fix bugs and improve Monet.

When Monet learns how a public video is made (its cuts, text and timing), it keeps that as a template and reuses it for anyone who remakes the same video. Your clips, photos and messages are never part of a template and are never shown to other people.

We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. We do not use your videos, clips or messages to train AI models, and neither does Anthropic, our AI provider.

Who processes it

These companies process data on our behalf, only to provide their part of Monet:

Convex stores your account, remakes and files and runs Monet’s servers. boat.dev provides the machines that analyse videos and assemble remakes. Anthropic (Claude) reads frames of the video you want to remake, frames of your clips and your change requests, to build and edit the remake. ElevenLabs turns text into speech, only when you ask for a voiceover. RevenueCat and Apple handle subscriptions. PostHog provides usage analytics and session replays. Expo delivers notifications. Apple and Google handle sign-in if you use them.

When you paste or share a link, Monet fetches the public video and its preview from the platform it is on, such as TikTok, Instagram or YouTube.

These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.

How long we keep it

Your account, remakes, clips and messages are kept until you delete them or your account. Deleting your account (Account → Delete account) permanently deletes your remakes, clips, messages and sign-in data. Templates learned from public videos are kept, since they contain none of your files or personal data.

Usage analytics are kept for as long as they help us improve Monet, then deleted. Apple and RevenueCat keep purchase records as the law requires.

Your rights and choices

You can delete your account in the app at any time. You can turn notifications and photo access off in your device’s Settings. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us anything about it, email us; we answer within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom: we process your data to provide the service you asked for (contract), to keep Monet working and improve it (legitimate interests), and with your consent for notifications. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Children

Monet is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date.
